  • Why did you choose this career? When I was in college the Student Affairs professionals that I worked with made a huge impact in my life. I chose this career in hopes to do the same for the students I work with on campus.
  • Where are you from? State College, PA
  • How do you spend your free time? Trying out new recipes and taking an adult tap class!

Coordinator for MCV Campus Programs

  • Responsibilities: Coordinating social, personal and professional enrichment, and community engagement programs for the MCV Campus. Advising the Graduate and Professional Student Programming Board (GSPB). Serving as a liaison and advisor for MCV Campus student organizations.
  • Favorite quote: ​Remember to give yourself grace and your mistakes a purpose.
  • Why did you choose this career? I love being social and creative, arranging plans, and working with a team. My mentor asked me, "Do you love college? Could you see yourself in that atmosphere as a professional?" From that thought on, I knew this career was for me. The energy of a campus, the opportunity to work with students, and the possibility to make something great even better -- the career speaks for itself. I'm just lucky to have found student affairs and VCU!
  • Where are you from?Utah, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Jersey, Virginia. "Where are you from?" is a loaded question for me, but I am very grateful for my experiences.
  • How do you spend your free time? Visiting new cities on a weekend trip, and going on long walks around town and in nature.

  • Why did you choose this career? My involvement on campus as an undergrad student was transformational to who I am as a person. I learned many valuable skills and lessons and was impacted by the student affairs professionals who advised me or worked with me. I hope to have the same impact on the students at VCU. I believe in the power of connection to the community and exposure to new ideas and experiences.
  • Where are you from? Cincinnati, Ohio
  • How do you spend your free time? Eating, trying new recipes, and traveling! If you want to try a new restaurant or take a trip somewhere, I'm your go-to person.

  • Responsibilities:  Taking care of all Administrative office needs, day to day operations and ordering supplies for both offices. As part of my job I have fiscal responsibilities within the Student Involvement center as well I work closely with APB. I also manage 11 students’ in two different office spaces.

  • Why did you choose this career?   I chose this career because I want to continue to help improve the student experience at VCU, help students become great leader’s. In order to be successful at my job I do whatever needs to be done to support the office daily, that’s what brings me to work every day!
  • Where are you from? I was Born in Maryland, I have lived in Richmond most of my life” I consider myself to be a Richmond Native!
  • How do you spend your free time?.I enjoy Snowboarding, Surfing when I can… I love spending time with my girlfriend Julia, being home with the dogs Bailey and Lewis. My family lives in town, so hang out a lot around town!

  • Why did you choose this career?I was extremely involved as a sorority member during my undergraduate career at Drake University, attended Texas A&M University for my master's degree, and quickly developed a passion for helping students find the leader within themselves.

  • How do you spend your free time?I love to travel and spend time with my rescue dogs

  • Responsibilities: I connect students to volunteer opportunities on campus, in the Richmond community, and nationally through programs like RamPantry, Into the Streets, Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week and Alternative Spring Breaks.

  • Why did you choose this career? As a first generation college student from a military family, I was drawn to higher education and community engagement. Also, the snacks are fantastic.  
  • Where are you from? Everywhere! I've lived two countries and seven states, but I consider Richmond home.
  • How do you spend your free time? Grad schooling, improv comedy-ing, stalking the Richmond restaurant scene for new gems and making my dog wear increasingly embarrassing sweaters.

  • Responsibilities: I develop and coordinate a wide range of leadership programs for students such as Lunch 'N Lead, I-Lead Connect, Leadership Plunges, and more. In doing so, I collaborate with students and student organizations, various VCU departments, alumni, and others to bring unique opportunities to learn about leadership styles, values, and theories to the VCU student community.

  • Why did you choose this career? Being in roles like this one fulfills my desire to create, educate, and work closely with people. I didn't have a lot of support when I was in school and I understand first hand how important it is to have. I wanted to be in a position to help, to offer support, and this career offers me just that.
  • Where are you from?I'm from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
  • How do you spend your free time? I love to swing dance and blues dance. I like cooking for others. Dabble in photography. I try to find as much time to read every guilty pleasure novel I can.

  • Responsibilities: I work with all student organizations to help them register and help advise about finance. I communicate with student organizations about what is going on in the Student Commons and remind them of any deadlines as it relates to registration and funding. I administer the student organization orientation and finance training for student organization leaders and advisors.

  • Why did you choose this career? When I started to work here, and noticed how we make a difference in the lives of students outside of the classroom, I knew I was where I wanted to be.

  • How do you spend your free time? Quality time with my wife, grad-school, traveling with family, PS4, trying new foods, escape room.
