Civic Engagement

RamsConnect Yellow

Civic Engagement

The Office of Student Leadership & Civic Engagement creates purposeful experiences and resources that engage students to become active citizen leaders in the local, national, and international community. We promote mutually beneficial partnerships with these communities to connect students, including organizations, leaders, and employees.

Volunteer VCU

Students interested in giving back to the Richmond community through service have the opportunity to meet with a member of the Student Leadership & Civic Engagement team to discuss local volunteer options. Visit RamsConnect for more information and to register for a Volunteer VCU consultation.

Days of Service

MLK Day of Service: Honor the legacy of Dr. King by participating in a national day of service. The next MLK Day of Service will take place on Jan. 20, 2020. Visit RamsConnect for details and registration information.

The Big Event: The Big Event at VCU is a one-day, student-run service project where Rams come together to say “Thank You” to the residents of Richmond. This new VCU tradition shows student appreciation to the surrounding community through service projects such as yard work, window washing and painting for residents of the community. We share in the mission of similar programs throughout the nation - "One Big Help, One Big Thanks." For more information, visit: https://thebigevent.vcu.edu/

VCU Votes
